When designing your mail piece, make sure your message is clear, to the point, and calls the customer to action. Splashy, colorful pieces may grab someone’s attention, but if the offer is confusing, you’ve lost a sale. It’s also important to accurately portray your product – make sure you can deliver what you promise. Also, match the style of your message to your product. For example, it would be difficult to generate many sales for Cadillacs with a black-and-white flyer. You might find a “self-mailer” – which uses no envelope – the best package for your message. Self mailers are usually less expensive and can be produced quickly. Or you may decide on an insert and envelope. Depending on your marketing campaign’s budget or purpose, you could also use a box, tube, plastic bag, sleeve or book wrap.
